1.     Question: What do I do if nothing happens when I click on the links under Information/FAQ?

1.       Question: What do I do if nothing happens when I click on the links under Information/FAQ?

Answer:  A pop-blocker might be preventing a new browser from opening up.  Most of the links under Information/FAQ opens a new browser to allow the applicant to view information about the online registration process in PDF format.  To view the links, disable your pop-up blocker.  Below are the common pop-up blockers and how you can disable them:

a.      Internet Explorer Toolbar Default Pop-up Blocker

To disable the default pop-up blocker that comes with the Internet explorer (mostly in Microsoft’s Service Pack 2), in the menu bar, go to Tools > Pop-up blocker then click on Turn Off Pop-up blocker.  Once you’re done viewing the links, you may turn on the pop-up blocker by going to the same menu but this time, click on Turn On Pop-up blocker.

 

 

b.      Yahoo Toolbar Pop-up blocker

If you have installed a Yahoo Toolbar (see Yahoo Toolbar screenshot below) in your browser, disable the pop-up blocker by clicking on the Pop-up blocker icon  or the drop-down arrow beside the icon.  Click on or uncheck Enable Pop-up blocker.  Once you’re done viewing the links, you may turn on the pop-up blocker by clicking on the same icon and then checking the Enable Pop-up blocker option.

 

 

 

 

c.       Google Toolbar

Google also has its brand of toolbar similar to that of Yahoo.  To disable the pop-up blocker, you must disable the entire Google toolbar.  To do this, right-click on the toolbar to show the drop-down list for the all the Toolbars.  Uncheck the entry Google.  Once done with viewing the links, enable the Google toolbar again by right-clicking on the toolbar again and then checking on the Google entry.

 

 

 

d.      MSN Toolbar Pop-up blocker

MSN toolbar (as shown below) is among the latest toolbars.  To disable its pop-up blocker, click on the icon  in the MSN toolbar to show the drop-down list.  Click on Allow Pop-ups. Once done with viewing the links, enable the MSN pop-up blocker again by clicking on the same icon and then un-checking Allow Pop-ups. 

 

 

 

a.      AOL Toolbar Pop-up blocker

AOL Toolbar is also among the newest toolbars available (see toolbar screenshot below).   To disable its pop-up blocker, click on the icon  in the toolbar.  The display will change to  and you will now be allowed view the links.  Once done with viewing the links, enable the pop-up blocker again by clicking on the icon .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.       Question: I have already turned off all the Pop-up blockers but I still cannot view the files?  Are there other settings that I need to check?

Answer:   Add the website (http://nmat.cem-inc.org.ph/cem_nmat) in your trusted site

 

Ø       In your Internet explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options

 

Ø       Select the Security tab and select Trusted sites as shown below

 

 

Ø       Click on Sites

Ø       Type http://nmat.cem-inc.org.ph/cem_nmat in the space provided for “Add this Web site to the zone” and then click on the Add button.  Ensure that the checkbox for Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is unchecked

Ø       Click on OK to close the internet options box

 

2.       Question: I have already downloaded the NMAT form but I cannot view it for printing.  What do I do?

Answer:   The downloaded NMAT form is in PDF format.  To open or view this file, you should have an acrobat or adobe reader installed.  You may download free PDF/ Adobe readers from any of the following websites:

3.       Question: What if I have forgotten my password?

Answer:  You may reset your password in by going to the Edit Registration link under Online Options in the NMAT homepage.

 

Ø       Enter your Email Address or NMAT Application number then click on the Forgot Password button. 

 

Ø       The security question you have selected during the registration process will be displayed.  Answer the question correctly and then click on the Submit button.

 

Ø       Enter your new password and type it again in the Confirm password field.  Click on the button Reset password.

 

Ø       You will be prompted that your password has been reset. Click on OK

 

 

4.       Question: How do I download the practice test and other supplementary materials?

Answer:  After CEM confirms your payment, practice tests along with other materials will be made available for download via the View Status link. 

 

Ø       Upon clicking the View Status link, check your status.  It should be Paid Registration and Test fees

 

 

Ø       Click on the Download button corresponding to the Practice test you want to download. 

Ø       Click on Open to view the file in PDF format or Save to save the practice test in your computer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

5.       Question: Are registration/ test fees refundable?

Answer:  An applicant who has paid the registration and test fees and who withdraws his/her application in writing within the regular registration period is entitled to a ninety percent (90%) refund of test fee. NO refund shall be made after the regular registration period.  Failure of the applicant to take the test on the scheduled test date under any circumstances totally forfeits his/her NMAT registration and test fees.

6.       Question: What if I don’t receive the confirmation email for my payment after 48 hours?  How will I know the status of my payment?

Answer:  The email might have been blocked by your mail server or anti-virus or you may have accidentally deleted it.  To the view the status of your payment, you may click on the View Status link.

7.       Question: I have already paid the registration and test fees but after 48 hours, the status of my registration is still “awaiting payment”.  Who can I call to follow-up or confirm my payment?

8.       Question: Until when are we allowed to edit the details in our registration or the answers to the student Info questionnaire?

Answer:  You are allowed to edit the details and the answers until you’ve paid the registration fees.  Once we have updated your status to Paid Registration and test fees, you will no longer be allowed to edit the details.

 

9.       Question: Among the prerequisite for the Admission to Medical schools is the Certificate of Eligibility (CEMed) which includes the NMAT results (original or duplicate copy of Examinee Report form) issued by CEM.  Will the exam result display in the website suffice in lieu of the original copy?

Answer:  No, CEM shall send the sealed original copy by mail.

 

10.   Question: I encountered a database error during the registration process and it says “Call CEM for support”. Where can I contact CEM?
